I wrote a book recently, entitled 'Heading Toward Death'
I wrote it after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma a year ago.
I have a lot of regrets and feel disillusioned.
I have been trying to encourage people to expand their influences,
and try to develop their unique world outlook and values .
It was only after being diagnosed that I realized how fragile life is.
Interpersonal relationships are the most important thing in life.
Material things and your reputation, are in fact, meaningless.
When I was in hospital, the first Weibo post I wrote said:
'Everyone is equal before they have cancer.'
Before I was 50, I didn't feel old at all,
I went my whole life without feeling any discomfort.
But then, the doctor told me I have tumors.
Not just some, but a lot.
There were over 20 tumors in my stomach,
The cancer was in its fourth stage already,
and I couldn't come to terms with it.
I felt like I could work for another 20 years.
I felt my career fall away.
When I was diagnosed, I thought I only had few days left,
and that I had to write my dying words immediately.
I was so low,
but I forced myself to write 20 pages.
My Chinese isn't very good and I often make mistakes,
but I wrote 20 pages as I thought they were the last I would ever write.
Though it is important to be sucessful in business,
we shouldn't bury ourselves in work.
I made full use of my life before I was ill, and met many entrepreneurs.
We worked together to find ways to succeed in our careers,
and we tried to help students develop their ideas, too.
I didn't attach much importance to my family,
Although I occasionally spent time with them,
I spent most of my time working
and replying to people's questions on social media.
I spent time with my family when I had nothing to do,
and even then I was thinking about work.
For that reason, I missed out on a lot.
For example, I never learned the difference between sweet osmanthus and magnolia.
Nothing could get through to me, not even the most beautiful flowers.
I felt a lot of pressure after falling ill.
I never think about work anymore.
I am a quiet man now,
and I take note of the real beauty in my life.
What would you do if someone told you that you only had 100 days left to live?
I believe that everyone would make full use of those days.
And what would you do if you only had 1000 days or 10,000 days left?
Why don't we cherish our lives more?
