Arranging Flowers in a Teahouse
I\'m Xiao Man,from Taiwan.
Today I will show you how to arrange flowers for a minimalist tea house.
Flowers and tea sometimes echo each other.
Today I chose a bamboo tube as a vase, for its height.
I used a simple rock to keep the flowers in place.
This flower is called the narcissus lily,
it echos my guests when they drink tea.
If you arrange flowers in a tea house like this, it can fill you with vitality.
The green color of the flowers makes people feel especially pleasant.
The reason why I like flowers is because I like tea.
I have been studying tea art for almost twenty years.
Flowers have kept me company every day for these past twenty years.
Today, we will use a vase with large capacity,
which is very heavy.
I chose the African lily today, which represents love.
First I cut the rootstalks, then tie them together with string,
then I put them in the bottom of the vase
to help the flowers stay upright.
Then, I tie a bunch of grass together using string or wire.
African lilies are tall and straight.
I surround the flowers with grass,
to make them more beautiful.
Every time, after arranging flowers, I always fill the vase with water.
You can see the reflection of flowers and grass in it.
And they look incredibly beautiful.
